The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 And the second followeth it, 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
