Al-Hummazah
The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Woe to every fault-finding backbiter; 1 who collects and hordes wealth, 2 Does he think that his wealth will prolong his stay on earth forever? 3 Nay, but [in the life to come such as] he shall indeed be abandoned to crushing torment! 4 And what have you understood what the Crushing One is! 5 The fire of Allah, kindled, 6 which will rise over the [guilty] hearts: 7 Lo! it is closed in on them 8 In columns outstretched. 9
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
