(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 and that everyone shall have in his account only that which he worked for, 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
