Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
