The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
