Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the chargers panting, 1 Striking sparks of fire (by their hooves), 2 And push home the charge in the morning, 3 Raising clouds of dust, 4 Penetrating deep into the armies, 5 Indeed, the human is ungrateful to his Lord. 6 And to that (fact) he bears witness (by his deeds); 7 Surely he is passionate in his love for good things. 8 ۞ Knoweth he not - when that which is in the graves shall be ransacked? 9 and the secrets of the hearts are laid bare (and examined)? 10 On that day their Lord surely knows all about them! 11
