Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths! 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
