Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the concrete reality? 2 And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 the Thamud were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning; 5 and the 'Ad were destroyed by a furious wind 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound one blast 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 On that day you shall be exposed, not one secret of yours concealed. 18 On that Day, he whose Record is given to him in his right hand will say: “Lo! Read my Record! 19 Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 in an exalted garden 22 Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. 23 Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". 24 But as for him whose record shall be placed in his left hand, he will exclaim: "Oh, would that I had never been shown this my record, 25 and neither known this my account! 26 I wish death had put an end to me. 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 I am bereft of power." 29 Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, 30 and then roast him in Hell, 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 He did not believe in God the supreme, 33 nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy, 34 Therefore he has not here today a true friend, 35 and no food except pus 36 Which none but sinners eat. 37
