1/2 Hizb 45

۞ Gather together the evildoers, their wives, and that they were worshipping, 22 “Instead of Allah and herd them to the path leading to hell.” 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 What aileth you that ye succour not one another? 25 No, today they will resign themselves in submission, 26 and advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 27 They shall say: Surely you used to come to us from the right side. 28 [To which] the others will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were bereft of all faith! 29 We had no authority over you, but you were an insolent nation. 30 “So the Word of our Lord has proved true upon us; we will surely have to taste (the punishment).” 31 We seduced you astray; verily we were ourselves the seduced ones. 32 Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom. 33 Thus do We treat the culprits. 34 Verily when it was said unto them: there is no god but Allah, they ever grew stiff-necked. 35 And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?" 36 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. 37 you shall surely taste the painful punishment, 38 and not be recompensed, except according to what you were doing.' 39 But for the sincere worshipers of Allah, 40 there is waiting for them a known provision; 41 and fruits while they are honored. 42 in gardens of bliss, 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 a goblet from a spring shall be passed round to them 45 white, sparkling (wine), a delight to the drinkers. 46 No bad effect is there in it, nor from it will they be intoxicated. 47 And with them shall be damsels of refraining looks, large-eyed 48 like closely guarded pearls. 49 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 50 A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion [on earth] 51 who was wont to ask [me,] 'Why - art thou really one of those who believe it to be true 52 Shall we be recompensed for our deeds after we die and become bones and dust? 53 (The man) said: "Will you look down?" 54 Then, he will look and see him in the midst of Hell. 55 He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]. 57 He will ask his companion, "Did you not say that there would only be one death 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 Indeed, this is the great attainment. 60 For the like of it should the workers work. 61 Is this not a better reward than the tree of Zaqqum 62 Lo! We have appointed it a torment for wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hell. 64 Its crop is as it were the heads of devils 65 They will eat from it and fill their bellies with it; 66 Then after it, indeed for them is the drink of boiling hot water. 67 And afterward, lo! their return is surely unto hell. 68 Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; 69 So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps. 70 yet before them most of the ancients went astray, 71 though We had sent warners among them. 72 Then look how was the end of those who were warned - 73 except for the chosen servants of Allah? 74

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
