1/2 Hizb 46
< random >
Commemorate Our Servant Job. Behold he cried to his Lord: "The Evil One has afflicted me with distress and suffering!" 41 (And it was said unto him): Strike the ground with thy foot. This (spring) is a cool bath and a refreshing drink. 42 And We gave him (back) his family, and along with them the like thereof, as a Mercy from Us, and a Reminder for those who understand. 43 We said to Him, "Take a handful of twigs in your hand and strike with that but do not break your oath." We found him steadfast. What an excellent servant! He turned constantly to his Lord. 44 And remember Our bondmen Ibrahim, and Ishaq, and Yaqub the men of power and knowledge. 45 We indeed gave them distinction with a genuine affair the remembrance of the (everlasting) abode. 46 And indeed they are, to Us, among the chosen and outstanding. 47 And remember Isma'il and Al-Yas'a and Zul-kifl; all of the excellent ones. 48 This is a commemoration. Surely for those who take heed for themselves is an excellent place of return -- 49 gardens of perpetual bliss, with gates wide-open to them, 50 They will be resting therein and will be able to ask for many kinds of fruit and drink. 51 ۞ with them, they will have pure, modest women of an equal age. 52 This is the promise being given to you, for the Day of Reckoning. 53 Truly such will be Our Bounty (to you); it will never fail;- 54 All this [for the righteous]: but, verily, the most evil of all goals awaits those who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right: 55 Hell, which they will [enter to] burn, and wretched is the resting place. 56 All this; so let them taste it - boiling water and pus, 57 And other Penalties of a similar kind, to match them! 58 (We shall say to their leaders): 'This is a troop rushing in with you, there is no welcome for them, they shall roast in the Fire' 59 They say: Nay, but you (misleaders), for you there is no word of welcome. Ye prepared this for us (by your misleading). Now hapless is the plight. 60 They say: Our Lord! Whoever did prepare this for us, oh, give him double portion of the Fire! 61 And they shall say: What is the matter with us that we do not see men whom we used to count among the vicious? 62 and whom we mocked? Have they been rescued or can our eyes not find them?" 63 Verily, that is the very truth, the mutual dispute of the people of the Fire! 64
