Therefore continue to give warning, for by the grace of your Lord, you are not a soothsayer or a madman. 29 Or they allege, “He is a poet – we await a calamity of the times to befall him.” 30 Tell them: "Keep on expecting, I am expecting with you." 31 Do their minds prompt them to say such things, or are they a people immersed in transgression?” 32 Or do they say, "He has made it up"? Rather, they do not believe. 33 Then let them bring an announcement like it if they are truthful. 34 Or were they created out of naught? Or are they the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they are sure of nothing! 36 Or do they have the treasures of your Lord, or are they the authority? 37 Or, do they have a ladder on which they listen? Then let any of them that has listened bring a clear authority. 38 Or has He daughters, and they sons? 39 Or is it that [they who reject thy message, O Muhammad, fear lest] thou ask of them a reward, so that they would be burdened with debt [if they should listen to thee]? 40 Or do they have knowledge of the Unknown which they write down? 41 Or do they want to stage a deception? -- Then only those who do not believe will be the ones who will be tricked. 42 Or have they an ilah (a god) other than Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partners (to Him) 43 Even if they were to see a part of the heavens falling down upon them, they would say, "It is only dense cloud". 44 So leave them until they meet their Day in which they will be struck insensible - 45 A day on which their scheming will not benefit them at all, nor will they be helped. 46 Truly, for those who do wrong there is a punishment besides that, though most of them do not know it. 47 Now await in patience the command of thy Lord: for verily thou art in Our eyes: and celebrate the praises of thy Lord the while thou standest forth, 48 And in a part of the night exalt Him and after [the setting of] the stars. 49
