▼ 55 The All Compassionate
Al-Rahman 3 of 3
There are two gardens for one who fears standing before his Lord. 46 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 47 [two gardens] of many wondrous hues. 48 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 49 In both of them, there are two springs flowing. 50 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 51 therein of every fruit two kinds -- 52 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 53 Reclining on carpets whereof the linings will be of brocade; and the fruit of the two Gardens shall be near at hand. 54 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 55 therein maidens restraining their glances, untouched before them by any man or jinn -- 56 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 57 As though they are jacinth and coral. 58 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 59 Is the reward for good [anything] but good? 60 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 61 And beside them are two other gardens, 62 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?- 63 Dark green [in color]. 64 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 65 In both of them are two springs, spouting. 66 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 67 In which will be the fruit, date-palms and pomegranates. 68 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 69 In them shall be good and pleasing. 70 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 71 Maidens (of Paradise, Houris) in cloistered cool pavilions. 72 jinn and mankind - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny 73 Whom no man or jinn yatmithhunna (has opened their hymens with sexual intercourse) before them. 74 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 75 Reclining upon cushions green and carpets beauteous. 76 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 77 Blessed be the name of your Lord, the Lord of Glory and Honor! 78

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
