The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 by those that swim serenely 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
