Jonah was certainly a Messenger. 139 Call to mind when he fled to the laden ship, 140 and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast). 141 And a fish swallowed him, and he was reproaching himself. 142 And had he not been of those who hallow Him, 143 he would have tarried in its belly until the day they shall be raised; 144 ۞ We cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick. 145 And We grew a tree of gourd (as a shelter) above him. 146 And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. 147 and they believed in him: so We let them live in ease for a while. 148 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), whether the daughters are for your Lord and the sons for them! 149 Or, did We create the angels females while they were witnessing? 150 Now surely it is of their own lie that they say: 151 That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 Will you not then mind? 155 Do you have any clear authority for such claims? 156 Then bring your book, if you are truthful. 157 And they have claimed between Him and the jinn a lineage, but the jinn have already known that they [who made such claims] will be brought to [punishment]. 158 Hallowed be Allah from that which they ascribe to Him. 159 except for God's sincere servants. 160 neither you nor what you worship 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 (Gabriel said to the Prophet): 'Each of us has a known place. 164 Verily we range ourselves in rows (as humble servants) 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 They say, 167 'If only we had a reminder from the ancients, 168 “We would certainly be the chosen bondmen of Allah.” 169 But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know. 170 We decreed that Our Messenger servants 171 that, verily, they - they indeed - would be succoured, 172 and Our armies shall be the victors. 173 Therefore turn away from them till a time, 174 And watch them and they shall see (the punishment)! 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it cometh home to them, then it will be a hapless morn for those who have been warned. 177 Stay away from them for a while 178 and see, soon they shall see! 179 Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe. 180 And peace be on the Messengers! 181 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 182

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
