The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
The Hour of Doom is drawing near and the moon is rent asunder. 1 (Regardless of any Signs these people see), they turn away and say: “This is an ongoing sorcery.” 2 And they call (it) a lie, and follow their low desires; and every affair has its appointed term. 3 Tidings containing a deterrent have come to them 4 profound in wisdom, but all warnings have been of no avail: 5 So (O Muhammad SAW) withdraw from them. The Day that the caller will call (them) to a terrible thing. 6 They will come forth,- their eyes humbled - from (their) graves, (torpid) like locusts scattered abroad, 7 Hastening towards the caller, the disbelievers will say: "This is a hard Day." 8 ۞ The people of Noah cried lies before them; they cried lies to Our servant, and said, 'A man possessed!' And he was rejected. 9 Then he called on his Lord: "I am one overcome: do Thou then help (me)!" 10 So We opened the gates of the sky with water pouring down in torrents, 11 And caused the earth to gush forth springs, so that the waters met for a predestined purpose. 12 but him We bore on that [vessel] made of [mere] planks and nails, 13 Sailing, before Our eyes, a reward for him who was denied. 14 And We left it as a sign – so is there one who would ponder? 15 How terrible was My torment and the result of (their disregard) of My warning. 16 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition; is there then any one who would be admonished? 17 The 'Ad (people) (too) rejected (Truth): then how terrible was My Penalty and My Warning? 18 We sent a raging wind against them on a day of continuous calamity. 19 and snatched people up as though they were stumps of uprooted palmtrees. 20 How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 21 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition; is there then any one who would be admonished! 22
