Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blessed is He in Whose hand is the Sovereignty, and, He is Able to do all things. 1 The One Who created death and life to test you – who among you has the better deeds; and He only is the Most Honourable, the Oft Forgiving. 2 The One Who created the seven heavens atop each other; do you see any discrepancy in the creation of the Most Gracious? Therefore lift your gaze – do you see any cracks? 3 Then look again and yet again, your sight will return to you in a state of humiliation and worn out. 4 We have adorned the lowest heaven with lamps, and We have made them for driving away devils. For them We have prepared the punishment of the blazing Fire. 5 And for those who disbelieved in their Lord, is the punishment of hell; and what a wretched outcome! 6 When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath even as it blazes forth, 7 as though bursting with rage. Each time a group is cast into it, its keepers will ask them, "Did no warner come to you?" 8 They will reply: "Yea, a warner did indeed come unto us, but we gave him the lie and said, 'Never has God sent down anything [by way of revelation]! You [self-styled warners] are but lost in a great delusion!"' 9 They will further say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we should not (now) be among the Companions of the Blazing Fire!" 10 So now they admit their sins! Therefore accursed be the people of hell! 11 Verily those who dread their Lord unseen, theirs shall be forgiveness and a great hire. 12 Whether you say a thing secretly or openly, He knows the innermost secrets of your hearts. 13 Would He not know, He Who has created, when He is All-Subtle, All-Aware? 14
