Truly it is the revelation of the Lord of all Being, 192 Which the True Spirit hath brought down 193 to your heart that you might become one of those who warn (others on behalf of Allah), 194 It has been revealed in plain Arabic. 195 Its news was also mentioned in the ancient Books. 196 Was it not a sign for them, that it is known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 Had We revealed it to a non-Arab 198 they would still not have believed in it. 199 This is how We have made (the habit of) denying embedded in the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe therein until they behold the torment afflictive. 201 So it will come upon them suddenly, whilst they will be unaware. 202 They will therefore say, “Will we get some respite?” 203 So do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 What thinkest thou? If We give them enjoyment of days for many years, 205 and then what they were promised comes to them, 206 What shall that which they enjoyed avail them? 207 We never destroyed a village that did not have warners 208 To warn. For We are never unjust. 209 The satans have not revealed the Quran; 210 neither are they worthy of it, nor are they capable of it, 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished. 213 And warn thou thy clan, the nearest ones. 214 And lower thy wing (in kindness) unto those believers who follow thee. 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 Have trust in the Majestic and All-merciful God, 217 Who observes you when you rise (to pray) 218 And (seeth) thine abasement among those who fall prostrate (in worship). 219 He is All-hearing and All-knowing." 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They come down to every mendacious sinner, 222 Who listens to you (for spreading rumours); but most of them are liars. 223 And the astray follow the poets. 224 Do you not see that they wander about bewildered in every valley? 225 And they speak what they do not do? 226 [Most of them are of this kind] save those who have attained to faith, and do righteous deeds, and remember God unceasingly, and defend themselves [only] after having been wronged, and [trust in God's promise that] those who are bent on wrongdoing will in time come to know how evil a turn their destinies are bound to take! 227
