(Muhammad) say, "I am only a warner. The only Lord is God, the Almighty. 65 Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, all-mighty, all-forgiving." 66 Say, “That is a great tidings.” 67 "From which ye do turn away! 68 I have no knowledge of the dispute among the angels (concerning their attitude towards Adam). 69 It has not been revealed to me except that I am a clear warner." 70 [For,] lo, thy Sustainer said unto the angels: "Behold, I am about to create a human being out of clay; 71 After I have created him and breathed into him of My spirit, fall you down, prostrating yourselves to him.” 72 Then the angels bowed before him in a body, 73 save Iblis: he gloried in his arrogance, and [thus] became one of those who deny the truth. 74 He said: O Iblis! what prevented you that you should do obeisance to him whom I created with My two hands? Are you proud or are you of the exalted ones? 75 Satan replied, "I am better than him. You created me from fire, but You created him from clay." 76 Said He, 'Then go thou forth hence; thou art accursed. 77 "And verily!, My Curse is on you till the Day of Recompense." 78 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "My Lord! Give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are resurrected." 79 The Lord said, "You will only be given a respite 80 for an appointed time". 81 He said: Then by Thy Might I will surely make them live an evil life, all, 82 Other than the chosen ones among Your creatures." 83 [And God] said: "This, then, is the truth! And this truth do I state: 84 I will certainly fill the Gehenna with you and with all those among them who follow you.” 85 Say: "No reward do I ask of you for this (Qur'an), nor am I a pretender. 86 It is nothing but a reminder to the nations; 87 And ye shall surely come to know the truth thereof after a season. 88
