۞ “Gather all the unjust persons and their spouses, and all that they used to worship!” 22 apart from God, and guide them unto the path of Hell! 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 What aileth you that ye succour not one another? 25 They will submit to questioning then, 26 and approach each other with questions, 27 They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, order us for polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islamic Monotheism and from every good deed]." 28 They will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were not believers. 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 But now our Sustainer's word has come true against us [as well]: verily, we are bound to taste [the fruit of our sins]. 31 For we had led you astray. In fact we ourselves were astray." 32 So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment. 33 This is how We deal with the guilty. 34 When they were told, "There is no deity but God," they turned away with disdain, 35 And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? 36 Nay, but he brought the Truth, and he confirmed those sent (before him). 37 Verily, you (pagans of Makkah) are going to taste the painful torment; 38 And you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do - 39 Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 40 for them awaits a known provision, 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 in the Gardens of Delight, 43 (Sitting) on couches, face to face, 44 With cups from a flowing stream being passed around, 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 Neither does it intoxicate, nor give a headache. 47 and with them wide-eyed maidens restraining their glances 48 [as free of faults] as if they were hidden [ostrich] eggs. 49 Then shall some of them advance to others, questioning each other. 50 One of them will say: 'I had a companion 51 Who said: art thou of those who confess to the doctrine of Resurrection: 52 Shall we be recompensed for our deeds after we die and become bones and dust? 53 Allah will say: will ye look down? 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He said, “By Allah, you had nearly ruined me!” 56 Had it not been for the grace of my Lord I too would have been there (in Hell). 57 He will ask his companion, "Did you not say that there would only be one death 58 except for our first death? And shall we suffer no chastisement?'” 59 This is indeed the mighty triumph, 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is this better as a welcome, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers. 63 Indeed, it is a tree issuing from the bottom of the Hellfire, 64 its spathes are as the heads of Satans, 65 on it they shall feed, and with it they shall fill their bellies. 66 Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture prepared in boiling water. 67 Then most surely their return shall be to hell. 68 These are the ones who found their fathers steeped in error, 69 But they make haste (to follow) in their footsteps. 70 And verily most of the men of old went astray before them, 71 And We had sent admonishers to them. 72 Then see how was the end of those warned, 73 Only Our sincere servants were saved. 74
