The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 has created man, 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
