By the moon, 32 by the retreating night, 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 a warning to humans, 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 From the guilty. 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
