Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
