Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the sky breaks apart 1 and when the stars are scattered; 2 And when the seas are erupted 3 and the graves are turned inside out, 4 A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back. 5 O man! What hath made thee careless concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 Who created you, then made you complete, then made you symmetrical? 7 and composed thee after what form He would? 8 Rather, you belied the Recompense. 9 Yet over you there are watchers, 10 Honorable recorders, 11 who know of all that you do. 12 The pious will surely be in heaven, 13 The wicked certainly in Hell: 14 roasting in it on the Day of Recompense 15 And will not be able to hide from it. 16 And what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 17 Again, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 18 It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah. 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
