The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By heaven of the constellations, 1 And the promised day, 2 And by the Day witnessing and the Day witnessed, 3 destroyed were the people of the trench, 4 with fire abounding in fuel, 5 When they sat by it, 6 And they themselves are witnesses to what they were doing to the Muslims! 7 Against these they had no grudge except that they believed in Allah, the Most Mighty, the Most Praiseworthy, 8 [and] to whom the dominion of the heavens and the earth belongs. But God is witness unto everything! 9 Those who persecute the believers, men and women, and then have not repented, there awaits them the chastisement of Gehenna, and there awaits them the chastisement of the burning. 10 As for those who believed and acted righteously, theirs shall be Gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great triumph. 11 Stern indeed is your Lord's punishment. 12 It is verily He who initiates and repeats. 13 And He alone is truly-forgiving, all-embracing in His love, 14 the Owner of the Throne, the Glorious One, 15 Executor of His own will. 16 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts 17 of Pharaoh, and of [the tribe of] Thamud? 18 Yet the infidels persist in denial. 19 However, God encompassed their activities. 20 Nay; but this is a glorious Qur'an, 21 In a guarded tablet. 22
