O ye who believe! Devour not usury, doubling and quadrupling (the sum lent). Observe your duty to Allah, that ye may be successful. 130 And beware of the Fire gotten ready for the infidels. 131 and obey God and the Messenger; haply so you will find mercy. 132 ۞ Hasten to obtain forgiveness from your Lord and to qualify yourselves for Paradise. Paradise, vast as the heavens and the earth, is prepared for the pious 133 Those who spend in Allah’s cause, in happiness and in grief, and who control their anger and are forgiving towards mankind; and the righteous are the beloved of Allah. 134 who, when they commit an indecency or wrong themselves, remember God, and pray forgiveness for their sins -- and who shall forgive sins but God? -- and do not persevere in the things they did and that wittingly. 135 their recompense is forgiveness from their Lord, and Gardens with rivers flowing through them, where they will abide forever. How excellent will be the reward of those who do good works. 136 Indeed there have been examples before you; therefore travel in the earth and see what was the end of the rejecters. 137 This is an explanation for mankind, a guidance and an advice to the pious. 138 Faint not nor grieve, for ye will overcome them if ye are (indeed) believers. 139 If a wound has befallen you a similar wound has already befallen the people who are opposed to you. We make such movements to men in turn so that Allah might mark out those who are the true men of faith and select from among you those who do really bear witness (to the Truth): for Allah does not love the wrong-doers, 140 and makes men go through trials in order that He might purge the believers and blot out those who deny the Truth. 141 Did you suppose that you would enter Paradise without Allah knowing those of you who struggled and who were patient? 142 And verily ye used to wish for death before ye met it (in the field). Now ye have seen it with your eyes! 143
