Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Say (O Muhammad SAW): "It has been revealed to me that a group (from three to ten in number) of jinns listened (to this Quran). They said: 'Verily! We have heard a wonderful Recital (this Quran)! 1 guiding towards consciousness of what is right; and so we have come to believe in it. And we shall never ascribe divinity to anyone beside our Sustainer, 2 'And exalted be the Majesty of our Lord, He has taken neither a wife, nor a son (or offspring or children). 3 And [now we know] that the foolish among us have been saying outrageous things about God. 4 and we had thought that men and jinn would never speak against God a lie. 5 But there were certain men from mankind who would take refuge with certain males from the jinn and they increased them in tyranny. 6 ‘And that they assumed, like you humans assume, that Allah would not send any Noble Messenger.’ 7 And that we sought to reach heaven, but we found it filled with strong guards and flaming stars. 8 and that “we would take up stations in the heaven to try to hear but anyone who now attempts to listen finds a shooting meteor in wait for him”; 9 And we know not whether harm is boded unto all who are in the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth guidance for them. 10 And among us there are righteous folk and among us there are far from that. We are sects having different rules. 11 Indeed, we thought that we should never be able to frustrate God in the earth, neither be able to frustrate Him by flight. 12 'And as for us, since we have listened to the Guidance, we have accepted it: and any who believes in his Lord has no fear, either of a short (account) or of any injustice. 13 ‘And that some among us are Muslims and some are the unjust; and whoever has accepted Islam – it is they who have thought rightly.’ 14 but as for those who abandon themselves to wrongdoing - they are indeed but fuel for [the fires of] hell!'" 15 [KNOW,] THEN, that if they [who have heard Our call] keep firmly to the [right] path, We shall certainly shower them with blessings abundant, 16 so as to test them by this means: for he who shall turn away from the remembrance of his Sustainer, him will He cause to undergo suffering most grievous. 17 And that the mosques are Allah's, therefore call not upon any one with Allah: 18 And that when the servant of Allah stood up calling upon Him, they wellnigh crowded him (to death). 19
