Nay, by the moon, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Except those of the right hand 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 About the guilty: 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 As if they were affrighted asses, 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
