Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Alif Lam Mim 1 These are verses of the Wise Book. 2 for a guidance and a mercy to the good-doers 3 who establish Prayer and pay Zakah, and have firm faith in the Hereafter. 4 It is they who are on guidance from their Lord, and only they are the successful. 5 But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty. 6 When Our verses are recited to such a person, he arrogantly turns away, as though he had not heard them, or as though there was a deafness in his ears. So announce to him the tidings of a grievous chastisement. 7 Surely those who believe and do good deeds shall have Gardens of Bliss. 8 wherein they will abide forever. That is God's true promise; He is the Mighty, the Wise One. 9 He created the heavens without any supports visible to you, and cast mountains as anchors into the earth so that it may not shake with you, and spread all kinds of beasts in it; and We sent down water from the sky so thereby grew all kinds of refined pairs in it. 10 Such is the Creation of Allah: now show Me what is there that others besides Him have created: nay, but the Transgressors are in manifest error. 11
