He created man and surely know what misdoubts arise in their hearts; for We are closer to him than his jugular vein. 16 Behold, two (guardian angels) appointed to learn (his doings) learn (and noted them), one sitting on the right and one on the left. 17 Man does not utter any word except that with him is an observer prepared [to record]. 18 and (the human being will be told), "This is what you had been trying to run away from". 19 And the Trumpet shall be blown; that is the Day of the Threat. 20 And every human being will come forward with [his erstwhile] inner urges and [his] conscious mind, 21 (It will be said to the sinners): "Indeed you were heedless of this, now We have removed your covering, and sharp is your sight this Day!" 22 And (unto the evil-doer) his comrade saith: This is that which I have ready (as testimony). 23 "Cast each stubborn unbeliever into Hell," (they will be told), 24 Hinderer of good, transgressor, doubter, 25 who set up with God another god; therefore, you twain, cast him into the terrible chastisement.' 26 ۞ and his associate [Satan] will say, "Lord, I did not make him transgress, he had already gone far astray himself." 27 (It was said): “Do not remonstrate in My presence. I had warned you. 28 The Sentence that comes from Me cannot be changed, and I am not unjust (to the least) to the slaves." 29
