When the Messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 he said: "Behold, you are people unknown [here]!" 62 They said: "Yea, we have come to thee to accomplish that of which they doubt. 63 We have come to you for a genuine purpose and We are true in what we say. 64 So set out with your family in a watch of the night, and keep yourself behind them, and no one of you may turn around, and keep going ahead as you have been commanded." 65 And We made known this decree to him, that the last remnants of those (sinners) should be cut off by the morning. 66 And there came the people of the city rejoicing 67 He said, 'These are my guests; put me not to shame, 68 “And fear Allah and do not disgrace me.” 69 They said, 'Have we not forbidden thee all beings?' 70 He said: these are my daughters, if act ye must. 71 By thy life, they wandered blindly in their dazzlement, 72 and thereupon the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at sunrise. 73 We laid it (the city) upside down and rained stones of baked clay upon them. 74 Surely in that are signs for such as mark; 75 The place (where this occurred) lies along a known route. 76 Most surely there is a sign in this for the believers. 77 And the dwellers in the wood indeed were evil-doers. 78 We therefore took revenge from them; and indeed both these townships are situated on an open road. 79
