And this (Qur'an) is a revelation from the Lord of all the worlds, 192 The Trusted Spirit hath brought it down. 193 To (communicate) to your heart that you may be a warner 194 in the clear Arabic tongue. 195 And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples. 196 Is it not a sign unto them that the learned among the Children of Isra'il know it? 197 Had We revealed it to any one of the non-Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 We have thus caused denial of truth to enter into the hearts of the sinners: 200 they will not believe in it until they see the grievous punishment. 201 And it shall come to them all of a sudden, while they shall not perceive; 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 Would they (now) hasten on Our doom? 204 What thinkest thou? If We give them enjoyment of days for many years, 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided. 207 And never did We destroy a township, but it had its warners 208 By way of reminder, and We have never been unjust. 209 Not by the Satans has it been brought down; 210 They are unworthy of it, nor can they do it. 211 Verily, they have been removed far from hearing it. 212 So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished. 213 And warn [whomever thou canst reach, beginning with] thy kinsfolk, 214 And lower thou thy wing unto those who follow thee as believers. 215 Then if they disobey you, say: "I am innocent of what you do." 216 And rely thou upon the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 who sees thee when thou standest [alone,] 218 And your turning over and over among those who prostrate themselves before Allah. 219 For it is He Who heareth and knoweth all things. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every lying sinner, 222 The devils convey upon them what they heard, but most of them are liars. 223 And as to the poets, those who go astray follow them. 224 Observest thou not, that they wander about every vale. 225 and how they say that which they do not? 226 Except those who believe, work righteousness, engage much in the remembrance of Allah, and defend themselves only after they are unjustly attacked. And soon will the unjust assailants know what vicissitudes their affairs will take! 227
True are the words of God the Almighty.
