Hizb 46
< random >
AND, BEHOLD, Jonah was indeed one of Our message-bearers 139 When he left towards the laden ship. 140 And then they cast lots and he was the one who lost, 141 then the whale swallowed him down, and he blameworthy. 142 and had he not been among those who exalt (Allah), 143 He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised. 144 ۞ but We cast him upon the wilderness, and he was sick, 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 and We sent him forth to a nation of a hundred thousand or more, 147 And they came to believe; so We allowed them to enjoy the good things of life for an age. 148 Then ask them whether your Lord has daughters and they have sons. 149 or is it that We have created the angels female, and they [who believe them to be divine] have witnessed [that act of creation]? 150 Lo! it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 'God has begotten?' They are truly liars. 152 Did He (then) choose daughters rather than sons? 153 What ails you then, how you judge? 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Or do you have a clear authority? 156 Then bring your book, if ye say sooth. 157 And they have made between Him and the jinn a kinship whereas the jinn assuredly know that they are to be brought up 158 Glorified be Allah from that which they attribute (unto Him), 159 except for God's sincere servants. 160 So you and your deities 161 cannot mislead anyone 162 Save him who is to burn in hell. 163 As for us, there is none but has an appointed station. 164 “And indeed we, with our wings spread, await the command.” 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 “If only we had the Reminder which had been granted to the people of yore 168 we would certainly be true servants of God." 169 Yet they disbelieve therein. Presently they shall come to know. 170 Already Our Word has preceded to Our servants, the Envoys; 171 That they verily would be made triumphant. 172 And that Our forces,- they surely must conquer. 173 So you ignore them for a time 174 And watch them (how they fare), and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 175 What! would they then hasten on Our chastisement? 176 But then, once it alights upon them, hapless will be the awakening of those who were warned [to no avail]! 177 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 178 And wait, for they will soon see. 179 Glory be to your Lord: the Lord of Glory is far above what they attribute to Him. 180 And peace be upon the Envoys; 181 And all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
