Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 and distributing the command of God at His behest! 4 Verily the promise made to you is true: 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Woe to the liars 10 Who are lost in deception. 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 They slept very little during the night 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 There is also evidence of the Truth within your own selves. Will you then not see? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
