Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven shall be cleft, 1 when the planets are scattered, 2 when the oceans are gushed forth, 3 And the sepulchres are overturned, 4 A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back. 5 O man, what seduced you from your munificent Lord 6 Him Who created thee. Fashioned thee in due proportion, and gave thee a just bias; 7 In whatsoever form He listed He constructed thee. 8 Nay! But ye do reject Right and Judgment! 9 Surely, there are guardians watching over you, 10 noble recorders, 11 They know all that you do. 12 Indeed, the righteous shall (live) in bliss. 13 And lo! the wicked verily will be in hell; 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 And they will not be able to keep away therefrom. 16 What will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 17 Again, what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 A day when no soul shall possess aught to succour another soul; that day the Command shall belong unto God. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
