And on the day when We will raise up a witness out of every nation, then shall no permission be given to those who disbelieve, nor shall they be made to solicit favor. 84 And when the unjust will see the punishment, from that time on it will not be lightened for them, nor will they get respite. 85 And when those who associate (others with Allah) shall see their associate-gods, they shall say: Our Lord, these are our associate-gods on whom we called besides Thee. But they will give them back the reply: Most surely you are liars. 86 and on that Day they will offer total submission to God: and all that they used to devise will fail them. 87 The disbelievers who had created obstacles in the way leading to God will face manifold torments as a result of their evil deeds. 88 for one Day We shall raise up within every community a witness against them from among themselves. And thee [too, O Prophet,] have We brought forth to bear witness regarding those [whom thy message may have reached,] inasmuch as We have bestowed from on high upon thee, step by step, this divine writ, to make everything clear, and to provide guidance and grace and a glad tiding unto all who have surrendered themselves to God. 89
