And recite to them the news of Abraham. 69 when he asked his father and his people, "What is that which you worship?" 70 They replied: 'We worship idols and continue cleaving to them' 71 He said: hearken they unto you when ye cry? 72 Or do they benefit you, or do they harm?" 73 They said, “In fact we found our forefathers doing likewise.” 74 Abraham said, "Have you really thought about what you have been worshipping, 75 Ye and your fathers of old? 76 They are all enemies to me; all, except the Lord of the Universe 77 Who hath created me, and He guideth me. 78 It is He who gives me food and drink 79 and heals me when I am sick. 80 Who will make me die, then give me life again, 81 and He who will, I hope, forgive me my faults on the Day of the Judgement. 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 and grant me an honourable reputation among posterity, 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Delight. 85 And forgive my father, for surely he is of those who have gone astray; 86 And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - 87 the Day when wealth and sons will be of no avail, 88 But to him who comes to God with a tranquil heart." 89 "To the righteous, the Garden will be brought near, 90 And the hell shall be made manifest to the erring ones, 91 And it shall be said to them: Where are those that you used to worship; 92 “Instead of Allah? Will they help you or retaliate?” 93 And they will be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 and the army of satan will all be thrown headlong into hell. 95 Disputing among themselves they will say: 96 By Allah, we have indeed been in an error manifest. 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 It was naught but the sinners that led us astray; 99 So we have no intercessors, 100 Nor a close friend (to help us). 101 But if we could but once return, we would be of the believers. 102 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 103 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 104
