Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Sure Reality! 1 And what is that indubitable event? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them? 8 And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, 9 and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. 12 And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 On that Day, he whose Record is given to him in his right hand will say: “Lo! Read my Record! 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 In an elevated garden, 22 Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 But, he who is given his book in his left hand will say: 'Woe to me, would that my book had not been given to me! 25 and neither known this my account! 26 Would it had been the end! 27 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! 28 and my authority has vanished.” 29 "Seize him and manacle him, 30 "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 He did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 Today he shall have no loyal friend here, 35 and no food except pus 36 Which none but the hellish eat." 37
