Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
