Hizb 46

Jonah was certainly a Messenger. 139 Call to mind when he fled to the laden ship, 140 And lots were cast (when a storm overtook them), he was rejected, (and thrown overboard). 141 then the whale swallowed him down, and he blameworthy. 142 And had he not been one of those who glorify (Allah) 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We threw him on a wide bare tract of land while he was ill; 145 And We made a gourd tree grow over him. 146 And We had sent him to a hundred thousand: rather they exceeded. 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 So ask their opinion: “(Are you convinced) that your Lord should have daughters and you should have sons? 149 or is it that We have created the angels female, and they [who believe them to be divine] have witnessed [that act of creation]? 150 Is it not of their own calumny that they say, 151 Allah has begotten; and most surely they are liars. 152 (And again of their falsehood): He hath preferred daughters to sons. 153 What is [wrong] with you? How do you make judgement? 154 Will you then not take heed? 155 Or do you have a clear authority? 156 “Then bring forth your Book, if you are truthful!” 157 They link Him with jinns by lineage, yet the jinns know they will be brought before Him. 158 Exaltations to Allah above what they describe, 159 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 160 So, verily you (pagans) and those whom you worship (idols). 161 Not against Him can you cause (any) to fall into trial, 162 Except he who is to [enter and] burn in the Hellfire. 163 [The angels say], "Every single one of us has his place assigned: 164 and, verily, we too are ranged [before Him in worship]; 165 And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah." 166 They say, 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 And yet, [now that this divine writ has been placed before them,] they refuse to acknowledge it as true! In time, however, they will come to know [what it was that they had rejected]: 170 And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers, 171 assuredly they shall be helped, 172 And verily Our host! they are to be overcome. 173 Therefore turn away from them till a time, 174 And (then) see them, so they too shall see. 175 Our torment seek they to hasten on! 176 When it descends upon their courtyards, evil will be the morning of those forewarned. 177 And leave them for a time. 178 And watch and they shall see (the torment)! 179 LIMITLESS in His glory is thy Sustainer, the Lord of almightiness, [exalted] above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 180 And peace be unto those sent (to warn). 181 And all praise unto Allah the Lord of the worlds. 182
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
