The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 It is the piercing star - 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And it is not amusement. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
