Thorns (Al-Masad)
5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Destroyed were the hands of Abu Lahab, and he lay utterly doomed. 1 His substance availed him not, nor that which he earned. 2 He will [enter to] burn in a Fire of [blazing] flame 3 And his wife too, who carries wood (thorns of Sadan which she used to put on the way of the Prophet (Peace be upon him), or use to slander him). 4 A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck! 5
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
