The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The believers must (eventually) win through,- 1 Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. 2 And those who from everything vain turn away. 3 pay their religious tax 4 Who guard their sex 5 [not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses - that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: for then, behold, they are free of all blame, 6 Those who desire to go beyond such limits they commit transgression, 7 (Prosperous are those) who preserve their trusts and pledges 8 and those who observe their prayers. 9 These are the real gainers, 10 Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever). 11 NOW, INDEED, We create man out of the essence of clay, 12 Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. 13 Then We made the seed a clot, then We made the clot a lump of flesh, then We made (in) the lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, then We caused it to grow into another creation, so blessed be Allah, the best of the creators. 14 Thereafter you are destined to die, 15 and then on the Day of Resurrection you shall certainly be raised up. 16 And indeed, We have created above you seven [celestial] orbits: and never are We unmindful of [any aspect of Our] creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in right measure, and caused it to stay in the earth, and We have the power to cause it to vanish (in the manner We please). 18 And by means of this [water] We bring forth for you gardens of date-palms and vines, wherein you have fruit abundant and whereof you eat, 19 Also, a tree which grows on the Tor of Sinai and gives oil and relish for its eaters. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 And upon them and on ships you are carried. 22
