Alshu'araa' 10 of 11
The dwellers of the wood belied the sent ones. 176 Behold, Shu'aib said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 177 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 178 "So fear Allah and obey me. 179 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 180 ۞ "Give just measure, and cause no loss (to others by fraud). 181 Weigh your goods with proper balance 182 And do not wrong men of their things, and do not act corruptly in the earth, making mischief. 183 And fear He who created you and the former creation." 184 They said, "You are no more than a bewitched and insane man 185 “You are just a human like us, and indeed we consider you a liar.” 186 So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful." 187 He said, "My Lord knows all that you do." 188 And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day. 189 Verily herein is a sign; but most of them are not believers. 190 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
