So did you observe him who turned away? 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 Thamud, 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 And you are lost in play! 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
