The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 The closing night, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
