And remember Our slave Ayub (Job), when he invoked his Lord (saying): "Verily! Shaitan (Satan) has touched me with distress (by losing my health) and torment (by losing my wealth)! 41 We said to him, “Strike the earth with your foot; this cool spring is for bathing and drinking.” (A spring gushed forth when he struck the earth – this was a miracle.) 42 We restored his family to him with others similar to them, as a blessing from Us and a reminder for men of wisdom. -- 43 "And take in your hand a bundle of thin grass and strike therewith (your wife), and break not your oath. Truly! We found him patient. How excellent (a) slave! Verily, he was ever oft-returning in repentance (to Us)! 44 And remember Our slaves, Ibrahim (Abraham), Ishaque (Isaac), and Ya'qub (Jacob), (all) owners of strength (in worshipping Us) and (also) of religious understanding. 45 for, verily, We purified them by means of a thought most pure: the remembrance of the life to come. 46 and in Our sight they are of the chosen, the excellent. 47 And remember Ismail and Yasa’a (Elisha) and Zul-Kifl; and they are all excellent. 48 This was a remembrance. An excellent retreat awaits the God-fearing 49 Everlasting Gardens – all its gates are open for them. 50 Reclining on pillows, in it they ask for fruits and drinks in plenty. 51 ۞ And beside them will be chaste females (virgins) restraining their glances only for their husbands, (and) of equal ages. 52 This it is what you (Al-Muttaqun - the pious) are promised for the Day of Reckoning! 53 This is surely Our provision never-ending. 54 However, the rebellious ones will have the worst place to return. 55 They will suffer in hell. What a terrible dwelling! 56 Here is a boiling and an ice-cold draught, so let them taste it, 57 And other similar torments. 58 (Observing their followers advancing to Hell they will say, among themselves: “This is a troop rushing in to you. There is no welcome for them. They are destined to roast in the Fire.” 59 They will reply: “Rather, no welcome to you. (You will roast in Hell.) It is you who led us to this end. What an evil resort!” 60 They will say: "Our Lord! Whoever brought this upon us, add to him a double torment in the Fire!" 61 And they will say: "What is the matter with us that we see not men whom we used to count among the bad ones?" 62 Took we them so unjustly for a butt of mockery, or are they deluding our eyes? 63 Surely that is true -- the disputing of the inhabitants of the Fire. 64
