Nay, and by the moon, 32 and the night when it retreats 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 a warning to humans, 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 About the criminals, 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 But they will not remember except as God wills: He is worthy to be feared, and He is worthy of forgiving 56
