Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 The closing night, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
