The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 - The piercing Star! 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 And it is not amusement. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
