Hizb 46

Jonah too was one of the Envoys; 139 [Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship. 140 So he shared (with them), but was of those who are cast off. 141 Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy. 142 Had he not been one of those who glorify Allah, 143 He would certainly have remained inside the Fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a bare desert whilst he was sick. 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 We sent him as a messenger to a hundred thousand people or more, 147 And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time. 148 AND NOW ask them to enlighten thee: Has thy Sustainer daughters, whereas they would have [only] sons? 149 Or that We created the angels female, and they are witnesses (thereto)? 150 Is it not a lie invented by them when they say: 151 "God has begotten [a son]"; and verily, they are lying [too, when they say,] 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What is [wrong] with you? How do you make judgement? 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Then bring your book, if you are truthful. 157 And they have claimed between Him and the jinn a lineage, but the jinn have already known that they [who made such claims] will be brought to [punishment]. 158 Exalted is Allah above what they describe, 159 except for the sincere worshipers of Allah. 160 But as for you, and that you serve, 161 You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him 162 Except such as are (themselves) going to the blazing Fire! 163 (Those ranged in ranks say): "Not one of us but has a place appointed; 164 And indeed, we are those who line up [for prayer]. 165 And we are those who sing hallelujas to Him." 166 They used to say before: 167 "If we had had with us a Book like that of the people of old, 168 We would have been the chosen servants of Allah." 169 They therefore denied it, so they will soon come to know. 170 And surely Our word has gone forth respecting Our servants, the messengers: 171 that, verily, they - they indeed - would be succoured, 172 And [that] indeed, Our soldiers will be those who overcome. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 And watch them and they shall see (the punishment)! 175 Then for Our punishment are they impatient? 176 When it comes down on their plains, it will be an evil dawn for those who had been warned. 177 And leave them for a time. 178 and see [them for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 179 Too glorious is your Lord, the Lord of power, for what they ascribe to Him. 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 And praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
